Meet the crew of Kiss Me Kate
|
2002
Crew
Kiss Me Kate |
| Director |
 Myrna Feldman |
|
Myrna Feldman (Director) is a founding member of
ACT and is proud to have directed all of its student and adult
productions. She has appeared in community theater comedies and
dramas in Boston and Atlanta, one of her favorite roles being
the Marilyn Monroe character in a stage adaptation of "All About
Eve." While theater's her thing, she hasn't yet given up her day
job as part-time technology coordinator for special education in
Gwinnett County Schools. "This show is dedicated to the Bard,
who hopefully forgives my artistic license at the finale." |
| Musical Director |
 Amy Thropp |
|
Amy Thropp
(Musical Director). With her degree in Music Composition, Amy
promptly set out to become a computer programmer (not too many
composer ads in the paper) in order to support her musical
habit. She has sung, played, arranged, and directed in just
about every musical venue and is grateful that husband, Steve,
has been there all the way (“Keep tickling those ivories,
baby…”). Today, Amy’s day job is IT Director, and she’s still
keeping up her musical activities as choir director at
Congregation Beth Shalom and Choral Director of “Broadway at the
MJCCA.” |
| Accompanist |
 Steve Thropp |
|
Steve Thropp
(Accompanist) is an accomplished jazz pianist, teaches private
piano, and is a BMI songwriter. He has performed in eight
previous ACT shows. Other appearances include nightclubs up and
down the east coast. Steve appeared as a featured Synthesizer
soloist with the North Carolina Symphony and is the accompanist
for “Broadway at the MJCCA” in Dunwoody. He’s the very proud
father of Rachel, Blake, and Chad and the especially proud
grandfather of Justin. |
| Bass |
 Brian Weatherby |
|
Brian
Weatherby (Bass) has performed in three ACT productions, “The
Wizard of Oz,” “Cinderella,” and “Fiddler on the Roof.” He
played bass in four ACT productions, “HMS Pinafore”, “Hello
Dolly!”. “How to Succeed In Business Without Really Trying”, and
“Anything Goes”. Also, he played for local productions of
Cotton Patch Gospel. Brian has played bass in Courthouse Creek,
a bluegrass band, for the past 26 years and has been a studio
musician for Gabriel Productions. |
| Stage Manager |
 Marti Coleman |
|
Marti Coleman
(Stage Manager). This is Marti’s first involvement with ACT,
but brings several years of theatre experience from her hometown
of Perry, Georgia. Some of her past duties have included stage
manager, lighting technician, and producer. She has also
appeared on stage in several productions, but prefers to work
behind the scenes. In fact, Marti met her husband, Craig, while
working on her first stage production with the Perry Players, so
she credits the theater with her marital bliss…for now. |
| Choreography |
 Martha Sosebee |
|
Martha
Sosebee (Choreographer, Ensemble) is back for a sixth season
with ACT. Roles she played in 2002 include: Helen in “the Seven
Year Itch” and Miss Hannigan in “Annie.” Martha is director and
choreographer for the Aurora Glory Dancers at CTL Luther Church
in Lawrenceville, and she welcomes any opportunity to dance!
Martha dedicates this performance to the memory of Miss Aurora
D. Sosebee. |
| Construction Stagecraft |
 Paul Durden |
 Pete Carnes |
|
Paul is an ACT veteran since '93.
He is a member of the board of directors and set designer /
carpenter. This year he gets to ham it up as Baptista, the
father of Kate. "I now specialize in father roles as I've
turned into gray bearded old fa## " In his spare time, Paul
rides a Goldwing motorcycle, sings in a choir, power walks (up
to 15 k), and is into Geocaching (using a GPS to find hidden
"treasure"). |
|
Pete Carnes
(Ensemble). What a wonderful cast we have for this year’s
offering of “Kiss Me Kate.” We know that you will enjoy the
show. 2002 was a tough year for ACT and my family. My prayers
and heartfelt thanks go out to each of you for your support. So
sit back, relax, and enjoy a play about a play about a play. |
| Costumes |
 Nancy Durden |
|
Nancy has been in every ACT
production since Pajama Game – the perennial ensemble
member. She’s married to the love of her life – for nearly 30
years now – in the person of Paul (Harry/Baptista). She
enjoys motorcycle cruising on the Goldwing and race-walking.
Over the past year, she and Paul have started participating in
races - 5Ks, 10Ks, and one 15K. “I’ve got to admit that being
in one of these productions is more fun than race-walking a
15K!" |
| Publicity |
 Katherine Mahan |
|
Katherine Mahan is enjoying her 2nd season with
ACT. She has previously appeared in shows such as Pippin,
Tintypes, Anything Goes (twice!) and The Dining Room. Her
theatrical dream is to perform in West Side Story. While not
pursuing theatrical endeavors she enjoys working at RIA,
painting, reading, being with friends and family, and dancing.
Thanks to all my family and friends. You put up with a lot!!!
Love always. |

 Susan Kemeter |
Susan has been a member of ACT for 12 years. She
was in the first community production of "Fiddler On The Roof."
She has been a nurse in the "South Pacific", a secretary in "How
to Succeed", a factory worker
in "Pajama Game", a prairie woman in "Oklahoma", and other
musical productions. Susan has always had a love of theatre and
especially enjoys community theatre because it brings together
people from all different aspects of the community. Her full
time acting job is a teacher at Mountain Park Elementary. |
| Tickets/Arcado Coordinator |
 Vicki Rosenquist |
|
Vicki
Rosenquist (Tickets, Arcado Coordinator) is a founding member
and Secretary/Treasurer of ACT. She began as a yellow brick
road builder in the Wizard of Oz and has helped produce all
eleven productions since 1987. |
| Lights |
 Nancy Glenn |
|
Nancye Glenn
(Lighting Technician/Sound) came on board with ACT to do lights
for “South Pacific” and has been here ever since. This is her
ninth play. She has been working with drama since her junior
year in high school. She has had her time on stage but loves
lights. She loves making the actors look good. “The stage is
my canvas.” Thanks to John for letting me do what I love. |
